BK Contract Professor Position
Frontier Physics Division

 The Frontier Physics Division of Seoul National University seeks qualified applicants for the contract professor position in all areas of physics.

I.     General Information

       Institute: (4^thBK21) Frontier Physics Division, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Seoul National University

       Major field: Physics.

       Position: BK21 Contract Professor

II.   Qualifications

All applicants must have a Ph.D. degree with one year or more of postdoctoral experience, and meet all the requirements of the Seoul National University employment policy.

III.  Contract Period

Initially for 1~2 years. (extendable up to 3 years including the initial contract period for highly productive researchers.)

IV.   Application Materials

1. Curriculum Vitae together with current email address and a full list of publications
2. Application form (attached)
3. Reprints of recent publications

     * If not in Korean or English, attach translation to submitted copies.
5. Proofs of employment for all employments listed on the application form
  (These are required only for the individuals selected for appointment.)

6. Statement of major research accomplishments and awards
7. Statement of research objectives
8. Two letters of recommendation from the experts in the same discipline
(Person who had been/is employed in the FPD or SNU physics department has to submit at least one recommendation letter from a faculty member in FPD or SNU physics.)

V.    Responsibilities and Benefits of BK21 Contract Professors

1. Contract professors are expected to conduct research as required by the University and may carry on teaching when necessary.
2. Contract professors cannot hold an administrative position and does not have a vote at the faculty meeting.
3. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's qualification and experience, starting from approximately KRW 3,500,000 per month.
4. Successful candidates will be appointed in one of the following ranks: professor, associate professor, assistant professor or full-time lecturer.

X. Miscellaneous

1. When unspecified, general personnel guidelines of the university will be applied.
2. Contract professors will be subject to other rules for university employees.
3. When copies are submitted, a reference to the original may be required after the selection.
4. Only application materials received by the deadline will be accepted.
5. Application materials will not be returned.
6. Application to more than one position is not allowed.
7. Appointment can be cancelled if major flaws are found in the application materials.
